MGA Company Musical Theatre Training
MGA are now offering two full time Edinburgh based courses for 2010. Details of the Foundation and Advanced courses can be found at www.themgacompany.com or by speaking to Mrs Sumerling in the Music Department.
Fierce Performance are holding auditions on the 3rd January for their show “Broadway Bound”. They are looking for performers aged between 13 and 21 years and would prefer some previous experience in the performing arts. For an application form please call: 0131 466 9392 or speak to Mrs Sumerling.
Free Dance Workshop held by James Robinson who has danced for many artists including: The Pussy Cat Dolls, Simply Musicals, Eurovision, Celebrity X-Factor. If you are interested in taking place in this workshop, to be held in Stockbridge on Sunday 20th December, you need to register in advance as there are only 30 places available. Young Enterprise Company
Congratulations to all the members of this years Young Enterprise group on their success at last Saturday’s trade fair. They were voted third best product and came third overall out of many different companies. There are still recipe books on sale; one of these would make an excellent Christmas present. See any S6 member of the company or Ms Byrne or Mrs Mitchell for details. Look out for the books on sale at break.
S1/2 History Club
The history club for S1 and S2 will meet every Thursday at lunchtime in Room 209. Bring your own lunch, relax and enjoy.

Hall of Fame!
We are on the hunt again for any pupils who represent Edinburgh, Scotland, GB in any Sporting activity!! Please come down to the PE department and see Miss Day to have your photo taken as soon as possible. I also have a few photos which need updated with new achievements so please come down and let us know.
S1 Christmas Disco
There will be an S1 Christmas Disco on the last day of term 22nd December at 10.30am-12.15pm (until the end of the school day). It will be the best yet! Music, food, dance, fun, prizes, IPods, raffles and a chance to dance with your favourite teacher. It’s the best way possible to end your first term at the best school in bonnie Scotland. We will try and come round and see all of you in S1 in one of your classes this week to do some market research and sell tickets at the bargain price of £3. Most of the profits will go to charity. Tickets are limited in supply. See posters for details or speak to one the Business Education staff in R205.

Oliver @ Portobello High School
For the first time in a number of years Portobello High School are putting on a school show, Oliver, and we would like to make this show a big success.
Please come along and support those who have contributed by Acting / Painting / Hammering and being Technical! You won’t get a better deal anywhere and it’s a great start to enjoying the Christmas season.

Open Morning at Telford College
There is an open morning on Friday 22nd January at Telford College for students interested in Acting and Performance courses and in Professional Dance Training. Litter
There is a real concern that there is an increase in litter in and around the school. Downstairs in the Brunstane packed lunch seated area has been particularly bad. Please work with us to keep our school and its grounds tidy by disposing of litter in a responsible way. Thank you.

WORLD HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY – 01/12/09
Well done everyone who contributed in any way to the sale of red tartan ribbons for World HIV/Aids Awareness Day last week and early this week. A total of £214.14 was raised. This will be sent to Waverley Care here in Edinburgh.
